Happy Valentine’s Day! I can’t believe February is almost half way done! Tomorrow at school we will exchange valentines. Teachers can never have enough chocolate! Wednesday is the 100th day of school! I get to wear jeans to school all week because my team won a game that we played at our last staff meeting. Plus, my super student-teacher, Jennifer, is in charge of teaching all week (and she is fabulous) so I have no worries about giving up control of my Twittlebugs. My last student teacher was horrible, but I’m probably going to cry when Jennifer leaves because she’s been my earth angel since we returned to school in January.
I started training for the 5K run this evening. I’ve decided to go with a training program that Dunkin’ Donuts has on its web page. Yes, Dunkin’ Donuts must feel guilty about having such good doughnuts because they have a training program called DDSMART Zero to 5K. It seems easy and it tells me what to do each day for the next eight weeks. So, if I stick with the program I’ll be ready to run a 5K race by April 10th. The race is on April 16th, so that gives me a little wiggle room.
On Saturday, I had a Welcome Tea at First Baptist hosted by the women of First Baptist. It was yet another “Wow!” event! The program included dancers, music, poetry, gifts, and good food! I am so very grateful and thankful for all of the fabulous ladies who came to officially welcome me to First Baptist. They decorated everything in pink and green (my sorority colors), and even some of the Deltas wore pink shirts for the occasion. The church photographer was there, so I’ll share better looking pics when I get copies. But, I had to share a picture of one of my favorite gifts…
I finally got a “First Lady” hat that I’m comfortable with wearing! Here are a few other pictures that PB and I snapped.
Peace and Blessings!
