Count Your Blessings

When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings, name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly, And you will keep singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold, Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold; Count your many blessings—wealth can never buy Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict whether great or small, Do not be discouraged, God is over all; Count your many blessings, angels will attend, Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

REFRAIN:

Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your blessings, see what God hath done! Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

Is it a coincidence that my Virtual Community Group leader, Julie, had this song on her heart and shared it with me on Monday?  Neither of us having any idea how much I would hum this song throughout the rest of the week.   The infamous “norovirus” hit the Party of Six pretty hard starting on Monday night with Cub 2.  We knew that it was much more than just a stomach bug and had him in the emergency room rather quickly.

Count your blessings…

On Valentine’s Day, in less than an hour after waking up, Cub 1 occupied the half bath toilet while simultaneously, Cub 3 occupied the kitchen trash can.  This was shortly after PB came out of our bathroom to let me know that he was also under the weather.

…name them one by one.

I still made it to work on Tuesday after getting ice cream for Cub 2’s party, dropping off Cub 4 and chips for her party, as well as cupcakes for Cub 3’s party.  After work, Cub 4 and I spent the night in the basement bedroom while PB and Cubs 1-3 slept upstairs.

Count your blessings…

Everyone started the BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) diet on Wednesday and was finally looking forward to being allowed to go downstairs – and even have some Campbell’s soup!

…name them one by one.

Thankfully, on Friday, GMB came into town and PB and I were able to get away for a night.  The cubs are enjoying being spoiled by GMB and I even got a crock pot full of her yummy vegetable soup!

Count your many blessings, see what God hath done!

Peace and Blessings!

Keep counting those blessings. What a precious “crew” you have. Blessings to you as you care for so many!
