Forgetting to Remember

Last week was one of the busiest weeks we’ve had to endure in awhile.  It included two church services, one awesome AKA fashion show and lunch, two baseball games, a spring band concert, a sick cub, a birthday cub (one less car seat!), spirit week at school, and horseback riding.  This week will move a lot slower, thankfully.  There are only three planned activities!

One morning after one of our busy evenings, I looked out of the window and saw this:

One of the cubs left the door open on the truck, and PB and I did not check behind them.   I was so happy to find the truck still there with nothing missing inside!  We have been forgetful before.  Our forgetfulness resulted in Cub 1’s bike and PB’s golf clubs being stolen when we left the garage door opened overnight.  We have even left our keys in the front door overnight, but thankfully no one noticed!

When we are all inside for the night, we make sure all of the doors are locked and we turn on our alarm system in an effort to keep the outside world from coming into our house unannounced or uninvited.  We rest assured that we are safe under the protection of our security system.  But, when we are too busy and forget the details of securing ourselves or belongings, it reminds me that it’s ultimately God’s protection that keeps us safe and secure.

On this Memorial Day, let us not forget to remember the men and women of our Armed Forces who serve our country and help to keep us safe and secure, paying attention to the details that we don’t even think about.  Thank God for you!!

Peace and Blessings!
