We replaced Cub 4’s tennis shoes…again! She really does play hard! Even our always reliable Stride Rite brand can’t keep up with her!
Replacing Cub 4’s shoes isn’t exciting for her. She didn’t want to wear the new pair to summer camp today. Never mind that her old pair were falling apart. Her foot has grown, and I know that her toes had to be squished into the tips of her old shoes. She could also put the old ones on by herself which was important because she loves doing everything by herself these days! With time, she’ll be able to get her new ones on by herself as well.
I can’t complain too much about Cub 4 not being ready to change to something unfamiliar because I get the same way at times – with shoes, clothes, furniture, my attitude and opinions – just about anything! It’s hard to change when we’re comfortable with the same old, same old. But, is it possible…just maybe…that things will work better if we change it up a little? If the “same old” way is producing the “same old” unwanted results, then it’s time to try a different approach…a new attitude..a new pair of shoes.
Peace and Blessings!
