The Lord gave me this answer: “Write down clearly on tablets what I reveal to you, so that it can be read at a glance. Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed. Habakkuk 2:2-3
Vision took place today.
WHO? Over 500 volunteers ages 6 and up. There was a beautiful “sea of blue” as I walked into the sanctuary this morning!
WHAT? We lent a hand, spread love, and showed Christ through over 20 service projects. PB drove around to several different sites today. I was a part of a team who went to a senior apartment building to clean apartments.
Cubs 1 and 2’s team helped to collect over 150 bags of trash along the Anacostia Watershed.
Other groups also worked in animal shelters, group homes, area schools, and places I don’t know about! Cubs 3 and 4 had fun in day care and learned that we should “do good and help one another” according to Cub 3.
WHEN? It started with tons of prayer and planning months ago, but the official mission projects took place during what would be our normal Sunday morning worship hours. We also had a pep rally on Friday night to find out our assignments, meet our team leaders, and to pick up our snazzy tees!
WHERE? We started out at FBCNB for a short worship service.
Service projects took place all over Prince George’s county. We also had a clothing and food drive right at FBCNB.
Then, we all met back at FBCNB for a Health and Wellness Fair (yep, that’s a Zumba class taking place),
WHY? Because God said so! Much is required from the person to whom much is given; much more is required from the person to whom much more is given.” Luke 12:48
So the vision God planted in PB’s heart blossomed today in a beautiful arrangement of service to others. To God be the Glory! If you didn’t get a chance to participate this year, make sure you put it on your calendar for next year!
Peace and Blessings!
