There is nothing like a good dose of family time to keep your October optimistic! I had not anticipated missing the whole weekend of blogging, but I have several great excuses!
On Friday, the cubs did not have school (yay!). After the boy cubs made a visit to the barber shop, we headed out to a pumpkin farm. When we arrived, we discovered that it was so much more than just a pumpkin patch and hayrides. They had a petting farm, face painting, a maze, a cow train, pony rides, and more! Next year we will not plan anything else for the day so that we can enjoy all that they have to offer.
Saturday started with church school. It’s amazing that sometimes our whole day is spent at the church (church school, rehearsals, meetings, etc) and even though we’re right in the same building, we don’t get to see each other. This past Saturday, we had to cut our time at the church short because PB had a wedding ceremony in Arlington.
Sunday morning was Women’s Day/ Pink Sunday at FBCNB. It was a great service! My aunt and cousins surprised us by visiting, and my MB also came to church with us before returning home.
After naps and dinner, we spent time in the family room just being family. PB is in revival and preaching four nights this week, so the cubs had to soak in a lot of laughs and playtime with him to last the whole week long.
One way to remain optimistic in October is to make time for family time. Get busy with your family! I’m talking about movie/game nights, eating together at the same time around the same table, worshiping together, attend a concert or sports game together…anything! If you aren’t practicing your Fast and Furious maneuvers trying to get home to your family everyday, now is a good time to figure out why that’s not the case! Don’t get me wrong, we all experience the occasional can’t-wait-for-them-all-to-go-to-bed days, but if you’re feeling that way ALL of the time…something has to change. Family time is so very very important!
