From the Beginning

I’m signing off of social media for a few days to have some uninterrupted PB time!! So, I’m scheduling a few posts that will appear over the weekend. They will be from a sermon that PB and I preached together for Marriage Ministry Sunday at FBCNB called “The Journey to Becoming One”.  If you were there, sorry for the repeat! You can skip the next few blog posts! 🙂 If you weren’t there, I hope you enjoy these short summaries of our main points.

Genesis 2:18  God said, “It’s not good for the Man to be alone; I’ll make him a helper, a companion.”

How do two become one?

It begins with God.  You have to be in a relationship with God.  He knows us better than we know ourselves.  God looked at Adam and declared that it isn’t good for Man to be alone.

People move into relationships without consulting God first.  We seek relationships with others under our own authority and by our own will.  If we are not in relationship with God, then we could end up doing something that is not in our best interest.  There are things that God wants us to accomplish as a single person before we can think about involving someone else.

Did you allow God to choose your spouse?  Or if you’re not married, ask God to reveal (in His time) who he has chosen for you.  Don’t rush the process because all of your friends are getting married and you want to get married, too.  Don’t rush His will simply because you are beyond the age that you had dreamed of being married.  Remember His will; His way.
