family, marriage

I’m signing off of social media for a few days to have some uninterrupted PB time!! So, I’m scheduling a few posts that will appear over the weekend. They will be from a sermon that PB and I preached together for Marriage Ministry Sunday at FBCNB called “The Journey to Becoming One”.  If you were there, sorry for the repeat! You can skip the next few blog posts! 🙂 If you weren’t there, I hope you enjoy these short summaries of our main points.

marriage hands

Genesis 2:24  Therefore a man leaves his father and mother and embraces his wife. They become one flesh.

How do two become one?

A man is called to cling to his wife.  Cling means to embrace.  We are embracing what God has done in our lives by giving us a mate designed just for us.  Clinging means putting wife (or husband) first before children, job, or church activities.  Children are meant to be raised, not kept.  Children, as well as others should not come between your marriage.

Be sure to demonstrate to your spouse that they come first.  Schedule date nights and don’t change those plans for any reason.  You need to be their biggest cheerleader!  Marriage is about having each other’s back and working together, not against, your spouse.

Off and Running!
